We are proud to announce that our senior Solicitor, Richard Silver, has been invited to speak at Multimodal 2018 at the NEC, (1st – 3rd May 2018), with the very experienced Paul Jorgensen of Strategic Analytics Team (SAT).
The seminar will cover driving for work: legal pitfalls, consequences and things to consider on the road. Richard and Paul will discuss the legal problems facing professional drivers and transport managers and cover issues including:
- Driver and vehicle compliance, for example use of mobile phones;
- Vicarious liability of operators and transport managers for offences committed by their drivers;
- Effects of Brexit on driving licences, motor insurance and other regulations;
- Enforcement of breaches by foreign operators in the UK and by UK operators abroad.
The Seminar, on Wednesday 2nd May at 1.30pm at the Dunlop Rooms, will be a great opportunity for operators and their transport manager to receive legal and practical advice on current regulatory issues from two experts in the field.
Richard Silver is a senior Solicitor specializing in road traffic law, with considerable practical experience of advising and defending transport operators from PLCs to small companies. Richard has also advised an EU Embassy on UK road haulage regulations.
Paul Jorgensen is an operational logistics expert who understands the logistics business and the practicalities involved, not only in the UK, but literally all over the world.
Together, Richard and Paul will discuss how operators and professional drivers can avoid legal problems and also how to minimize the consequences if things go wrong. They will also be available to answer questions before or after the seminar.
