For the first time, Greater Manchester Police have used Twitter to give motorists real time details of where mobile speed traps are located. The initiative was part of worldwide police Twitter day on 1st November 2013.
GMP say that if the initiative is successful, they may decide to give this information more regularly via social media.
Although the locations of mobile speed traps are often available online, this appears to be the first time they have been given up to the minute via Twitter.
