Justin Bieber arrested for drink and drug driving

Justin Bieber has been arrested in Miami accused of road racing and driving under the influence of alcohol, marijuana and prescription drugs. He has also been charged with resisting arrest.

Local police said the pop star had been driving a yellow Lamborghini and was arrested in the early hours of this morning after racing on a street.

Police said he also had an invalid driving licence.

After appearing before a Judge in Court, he was later granted bail.

If arrested in Britain for similar allegations he would be at risk of prosecution for drink and drug driving, driving without a licence, racing on the highway and obstructing the police.

In 2012 he was accused of reckless driving, although charges were never brought.

The singer is of course not the only celebrity to find himself in trouble behind the wheel.

Last year, Premier League footballer Stephane Sessegnon was arrested and banned for drink driving, while the same fate befell Manchester United midfielder Ryan Tunnicliife in 2012. Also in 2012, Wayne Rooney’s brother, Graham, was banned for drink driving in Liverpool.
