Wills Department
Wills
and Enduring Powers of Attorney
This
Department specialises in Wills, Tax Efficient Trusts, and
Enduring Powers of Attorney.
Making
a Will is one of the most important things you can do to
ensure that your wishes regarding your property, money and
possessions are carried out in the way that you want.
The
time to make a Will is NOW.
If
you die without making a Will additional administration will
be necessary and your estate may not be distributed according
to your wishes and also at greater expense to your
beneficiaries.
If
your estate/joint estate is currently over £300,000 INCLUDING
your home you should also consider tax planning.
A
properly constructed will ensures that:-
Executors
of your choice are appointed.
Your
wishes are carried out as you intended.
There
is no room for misunderstanding or dispute.
Your
spouse or partner and any children are properly provided for.
Children
under 18 have guardian/s properly appointed to look after
their interests until they reach the age of majority.
Estate
winding-up time is minimised.
Inheritance
tax liability is mitigated and in many cases can be eliminated
altogether.
There
are a number of measures that can be taken in order to achieve
this. Due to the ever-increasing value of property more and
more estates are being brought into the tax net for a growing
number of people who would certainly not consider themselves
to be wealthy.
Our
fees are fixed and we are happy to make home visits, usually
at no extra charge. At our meeting we will discuss all aspects of
estate planning that are relevant to your circumstances.
